I fish in British Columbia quite often, going for a variety of fish from Trout to Salmon and it has concerned me that catch and release is a bit pointless if you cause damage to the fish while dehooking. Some of the devices available for dehooking are, in my opinion, absolutely barbaric, causing internal and external damage to the fish. The DeeHooker is a great design and works like a charm. I'm not the best at using those fiddly little dehookers you have to use to remove the hooks from your catch, even though their use is compulsory at the waters I fish. The DeeHooker has been a godsend to me. Easy to use, almost impossible to lose and it floats. Dehooking made simple. An absolute must for the tackle bag.
